On our quest for authentic Mexican food in the St. Louis area, we found a decent place to eat, but missed the mark on authenticity. Espinos is another Americanized Mexican fare. While the entrees are somewhat appetizing, it was like eating upscale Mexican food. We're not so sure Mexican food should be upscale. We have found the best places to eat true authentic...anything, are "holes in the wall".
The food overall is tasty, upscale, and of quality. The entrees we tried were somewhat dry, and that perhaps was due to the white corn tortillas. Don't get us going on the non yellow corn tortilla availability here in Missouri, that's a whole other story.
Chips and salsa were good and the mexican rice.
